A test result showing low sperm motility is an indication that the sperm are not moving quickly or in a forward fashion (toward the egg). With low sperm motility, the sperm have difficulty reaching the egg, making conception more difficult. According to the WHO, motility which is greater than 50% is considered within normal parameters. In a study from the Archives of Andrology, acupuncture sessions performed twice weekly for just 5 weeks increased sperm motility significantly. [1]
